daàPò réo Debuts reincarNATION, a New Performance-Based Video
Thursday, October 29, 2020
Some would say daàPò réo is a couturier and a master tailor; that tatted up virtuoso needleworker dude. Others would swear to you that the man is a space sculptor, avant-gardist star-gazer, Yorùbá-proverbs search engine, or cool bibliophile. But if you ask daàPò himself, he might just tell you he is a mixed-media artist with a story to tell, and true stories don’t lie. réo’s work probes the frontiers and interactions between surface and structure, representation and cross-cultural identity. In reincarNATION, réo (de)constructs the American flag in his signature bricolage style and poetic storytelling.
